Nomadic Noles Intern
As a Magazine Intern for FSU Valencia's Editing, Writing, and Media program, I had the unique opportunity to engage in social media management and publication writing/editing in Valencia, Spain.
Graphic Design
Inspiration
When redesigning program introduction and news graphics for the Summer 2025 term, I drew from designs created by former interns. I maintained their clean organization while adding graphic nods to travel and the literary world.
Process
After collecting student captions and photos from class assignments, I would draft graphics that complimented student content with thematic symbols, such as floral banners resembling Valencian architecture. My supervisors would then polish the graphics according to FSU branding policies and proofread student captions.
Challenges
Posts featuring student captions relied heavily on timely completion of class assignments. I acted as an assistant to my professors and sent reminders to students.

Organization
As a manager for the Nomadic Noles Instagram, I emphasized content variety and bi-weekly posting schedules for graphics highlighting student work.
Content
To attract FSU Valencia students to our program, I proposed and produced three Instagram Reels over the six week program. Aided by my fellow magazine interns, I stressed student involvement in video content by highlighting their experiences in Spain.
Identity
For the EWM students and FSU Valencia faculty, the Nomadic Noles Instagram serves as record of student work and program activities. Our content reflects FSU's dedication to academia, personal growth, and cultural immersion not through promotional advertising, but storytelling.

Video-Editing
Inspiration
When creating videos aimed toward student audiences, I drew from university content featuring student interviews and Instagram edits.
Process
I was both a video-editor and videographer for the Nomadic Noles Instagram. For videos directed by magazine intern Sofia Tascon, I would accompany her to student interviews and film b-roll footage of Valencian scenery. For self-directed videos, I would compile photos and videos taken by EWM students into video collages.
Challenges
To appropriately follow trending video layouts, I learned how to use Instagram Reels to create dynamic content. While exploring this editing software, I advanced my synchronization and trimming skills.

Writer and Editor
Description
As a student in the Editing, Writing, and Media program, I learned the process of journalism and crafted two articles for the Nomadic Noles magazine. As a magazine intern, I was an assistant editor of two students' captions and magazine articles.
Process
Over the course of the program, I pitched story ideas, interviewed FSU Valencia travelers and locals, and self-edited my articles. In addition to editing two students' written materials throughout the semester, I designed four pages of the Nomadic Noles magazine.
Challenges
As a writer and editor, my work was heavily dictated by the six week program length. As a writer, I scheduled interviews promptly to create thorough and polished written work. As an editor, I ensured that my feedback was timely and concise to allow students sufficient time to edit their articles.
